As part of the Children volunteer club that is part of the Kotor children theater festival, youth coordinators of NGO Our action organized a workshop about snakes under the title “Snakes. Why you should not be afraid?”. Children from the festival had a chance to see a snake live, touch it and learn much about snakes, their lives and habitats, as well as types that live in Montenegro. as well as how useful and needed they are in the local ecosystems. Well, small but valuable group of young NGOs Our action yesterday cleared Gurdic of waste and plastics and cleared lower levels of vegetation from the ramparts. The action has been made on our popular SUP plastic bottle bottles that anyone can make and thus recycle plastic bottles and give them another purpose. Volunteers from the Kotor Festival of Children’s Theater and the NGO Our Action realized a youth working weekend for the design of the space for the upcoming festival. During this two-day activity, the following activities were accomplished: 1. cleaning the workshop, 2. arranging a small info office, 3. arranging and cleaning Nautical workshops for children and children, 4. cleaning and arranging yards for visiting theater and youth, 5. flooded ramparts , 6. planted plants, 7. marketing cavalry set up, 8. banners set up, 9. Fish installation repaired and installed, 10. washed 240 of the 560 chairs used for Kotor Art (the rest will be finished), 11. water donations transferred . We thank all the young people for their hard work and hard work in this action. We also thank Waste management company of Kotor for the expeditious waste relationship we created during the action. On June 9, 2019, NGO Our Action celebrated World Environment Day as well as World Ocean Day with environmental action in Tivat / Herceg Novi Municipality. This action is the third activity in the “Young for a clean Adriatic” project sponsored by Beyond plastic Med and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The action was joined by young people from the organization “Do not throw bottles” from Herceg Novi and other citizens. 30 volunteers collected 180 bags of waste into 120L bags, mostly plastic bottles, shoes, styrofoam, and other plastic bottles and materials, from one beach only. On Saturday, the 18thof May on the coast of Risan, the X-Water Montenegro competition was born. NGO Our action had the honor to be a part of this competition and help in the organization of this event. The competitor swam at a distance of 1 mile, 4.5 km and 7 km on from the area of Perast by the Island of Our Lady of the Rock to Risan with big currents, waves and rain, and very low water temperatures. Volunteers on kayaks and SUP boards also battled bad weather conditions with waves, wind, rain and cold. The second part of the volunteers conquered new registration procedures, refreshment table, pulling competitors out of the water and much more. The positive energy, euphoria and success was felt in the air especially on the finish line. This competition is also the first where volunteers where called on the stage and received a award. We will not forget this unforgettable experience. See you next year.

From the 8th till the 12th of May, NGO Our action offered volunteer support for the fantastic Ocean Lava Montenegro triathlon held in Kotor. This is the fourth year in a row we are supporting this event full of splendid positive energy which for us has more than one dimension. As we are a NGO from Kotor supporting event that have such importance to our town is very important to us to not show of our town and it’s hospitality, but for guest to meet locals and make new and lasting friendships, and return for further competitions. Secondly it is of primary importance that our youth volunteers feel this energy, see how a well organized event is accomplished, how it is to work as a team, how people of various ages and with disabilities can do anything including competing, and much more. NGO Our action supported this event with 30 of their own volunteers from 8 different towns in Montenegro, and assisted in event organization and management of volunteers. We thank the organizers Marija and Igor Mayer on their unbelievable vision, work and dedication in continuously bringing fantastic events to Montenegro, and our town.
On Saturday, the 20th of April 2019 in honor of Earth day, NGO Our action organized a coastal and bay clean-up event in the town of Kotor. The action included the are from the main police station to the main beach, all rain water channels going into the sea that are full of plastic, the river Skurda and well of Gurdic. In the project youth of the north of Montenegro, from NGO Euromost where included in order to raise awareness and participate in the clean-up. Other local partner organizations where: NGO Koltrina, the Cultural center “Nikola Djurkovic”, the tourist company of Kotor, the Kotor children’s festival, mountaineering club Vjeverica, and the Triathlon club Kotor. Assisting us in the activity was the Waste management company of Kotor, Kotor bay company with kayaks, and Rogan fruit with food and refreshments. The activity was partially funded by the JU Morsko dobro and partially by the BeMed foundation thru the project “Youth for a clean Adriatic”. This is the second clean-up activity within the project. The goal is an active, participative approach to raising awareness for a plastic free Mediterranean sea. 120 bags of trash was collected including fishing gear and netting, plastic and wooden beach furniture, and much more. On Friday the 19th of April youth volunteers of NGO Our action organized a humanitarian musical evening for baby Melek on the main square in Podgorica. Leading the organization of this event was logistics manager Jana Raicevic. 754 Euros was collected for the child, as it needs immediate surgery/transplantation in Italy since she was born without some vital organs. More activities will be organized in other towns and at high schools all across Montenegro.
