On the 31st of October NGO Our action mad our fist visit to the Podgorica dog shelter. The activity was dedicated to learning about the rules in the operation of the shelter, and the way NGO Hand to Paw works with authorities at the shelter. The action focused on walking the dogs, feeding and spending time with them. It was a true pleasure on both sides of the fence. Next time we will come ready with more leashes and food.
This very cold and windy morning we spend today on Mount Gorica assisting our partners, the Union of Gorica lovers, to celebrate their 200th activity at this location. With us in the activity was the Greening department of Podgorica as well as the Podgorica Waste management company and other NGOs. In the same time this activity was our last activity of 2019 in which we completed 131 actions, which is a new record for NGO Our action. With our members and volunteers we supported clean up actions, humanitarian actions, cultural and sport events, completed projects, educated and much more. Thanks to all the volunteers who participated and to the Union of Gorica lovers for keeping this location fantastic for all to enjoy.
On Monday, October 28, the first phase of refreshment of the playgrounds and spaces at the Old Airport near the Health Center was initiated, across from bus stop 7 & 8. NGO Our action volunteers managed to paint wooden benches, and swing frame as well as a metal bench and football goal frames before the afternoon school shift. Most of this inventory was set up by volunteers from the NGO Our action already in 2013 and needed to be refreshed. We have also received a seedling donation so the next phase will involve planting and assembling the swings. In the meantime, we learn from the Greening department that they have applied for funds for a large playground to be built on this site. In the hope that it will not be wooden but other materials, we wish the children of this area to finally get a quality durable playground that will last as long as the structures that are now in the area. On Wednesday, October 9, a workshop for youth “Career counseling and CV workshop” was organized at the NGO Center in Rakite (Kotor), organized by the NGO Our action.

This is the first in a series of extracurricular educational workshops that NGO Our action has planned for youth in Kotor this school year, based on the needs of young people in a survey conducted last year by NGO Our action. The workshops will be held once a month at the NGO Center in Rakite and will be announced on the Kotor Youth Info Center facebook page as well as other media channels.
A conference was held today, 30.9.2019 at the EU Info Center in Podgorica, which focused on the results of the actions of the International Day for the Cleaning of the Coasts of Montenegro, as well as a detailed brand audit and analysis collected during this day. A Donor Day was held today at the premises of the Youth Educational Center in Baston, Podgorica. This is the first such activity that NGO Our Action has accomplished and we have helped 25 families on this day. Young volunteers (and their families) contributed not only to the event itself, but also donated and collected clothing, shoes, toys and furniture before the event. We plan to implement similar activity in October in Kotor. This day made the most happy children who were delighted to get home with their new toys, bags and cases. NGO Our action marked the International Coastal Cleaning Day in Kotor on Saturday, September 21 at the location of the Vrmac Institute beach in Stoliv. With 76 volunteers, young people from the NGO Our Action, students and teachers of Arcadia International School, other local and foreign citizens collected 10 m3 of waste mainly plastic bottles, cans, cigarettes, tires and other waste. For the third year in a row, cleanup actions for the International Cleanup Day are being carried out across Montenegro, and this year in partnership with the EU delegation and the Info EU Center and with the participation of over 15 NGOs, institutions and other organizations. Ponte Veslo Youth Educational Camp On Friday, September 13, until Sunday, September 15, NGO Our Action organized an educational camp for young people at the Ponte Veslo site. The aim of the camp was to encourage young people to develop tools through collaboration and teamwork, reflection on problems and solutions to project activities and how to improve actions, as well as organizational planning for the benefit of local communities. During the camp, young people were given interactive outdoor workshops that focused on marine pollution, ecology, what are green festivals, and conflict resolution. A coastal clearing action was held and olive trees were donated to a site that suffered the effects of a fire two years ago. Of course there were times for swimming, jumping, diving, enjoying the outdoors, sunrises and sunsets. The Highlight weekend was a kayak tour from Camp Vesla to Blue Cave on pretty difficult conditions.
