Educational walking tour – Kučka korita and “throat of the falcon”

On Sunday, March 7, about 20 young members of the NGO Naša akcija went to Kučka korita and “throat of the falcon” or as we call it Grlo sokolovo. The first stop is the lookout and the monument to Novak Milošev, which offers a fantastic view of Podgorica, then a visit to the ruins of the ancient city of Medun. Eventually we arrived at the Kučka korita and visited the “throat of the falcon”. The action was accompanied by a snowy road, which gave young people the opportunity for a little fun, also a flashmob dance and ball party.
This educational walking tour for young people is organized as part of the program “Nature for the physical and mental health of young people” and is funded by the European endowment for democracy. We consider it extremely important especially in this age of pandemic, isolation, online teaching, stress and general inactivity of young people.

Educational walking tour Velje brdo and cave Magara

Although we are not able to leave our cities on weekends, there are many locations in the municipalities that young people are not familiar with. So yesterday, a cheerful group of young people, led by the new executive director of the NGO Our action Dejan Besovic, headed to one such location. It is about Velje brdo on which there is, forgotten by many, the fortress Crvena stijena with an incredible view of Podgorica and its surroundings. Then we headed towards the Mareza cave, at the entrance of which there is a strange stone skull. This educational walking tour for young people is organized as part of the program “Nature for the physical and mental health of young people” and is funded by the European endowment for democracy. We consider it extremely important especially in this age of pandemic, isolation, online teaching, stress and general inactivity of young people. #NVONasaakcija #NGOOuraction #EuropeanEndowmentForDemocracy #Natureyouth #Youthmentalhealth

Walking tour Vrmac and Kotor winter carnival 2020

Volunteers of the NGO Our action spent a beautiful February sunny day in a wonderful walk and enjoying the winter carnival in Kotor. The tour started from the fortress Vrmac (one of the best preserved Austro-Hungarian fortifications in the Bay of Kotor, whose construction began in 1860, and got its current structure between 1894 and 1897) to the highest peak Saint Ilija at 765 meters above sea level. The tour lasted from 9 to 1 hour after which we went down to Kotor. For the first time this year we were not hired as volunteers, so this year we enjoyed the day and provided assistance to two groups in the realization of their masks. A wonderful day spent in nature and enjoying with this team.

Volunteer camp – Restructuring of Španjola fortress

From 31st of  July to 3rd of August, NGO’s „Našaakcija“ team of high schoolers joined the project started by NGO „Sinergija“ from Herceg Novi. Project „Volunteer camp – Restructuring of Španjola fortress“that was supported by FAKT’s  „Civil action“, started two months ago. By the words of organizer „with help of the young volunteers, project showed serious results and condition of the fortress was improvedsignificantly“. This was a real test of responsibility and maturity for our team of high schoolers because this was the first time for them to carry multi-day project on their own, without adult’s supervision.

This challenge was given to them because of our wish to create capable youth, future leaders that are learning on the field, and this team of 13 guys and girls finished this project with success, even though this location was unknown and challenging for them. We are proud of our team and all people at the camp. We own a big thanks to NGO „Sinergija“ for their hospitality and realization of a great project. You can follow up with new events that are part of this project on https://www.facebook.com/spanjola.fest/.
