Action “Collecting fruits of the autumn forest”

NGO Nasa Akcija and Omladinski Tivat went to Gornji Stoliv and Bigova today. The goal of today’s action is twofold: 1. collecting autochthonous chestnuts in order to create seedlings and thus pollinate the threatened part of the chestnut tree, 2. collecting fruits as well as maginja seedlings in order to create autochthonous souvenirs that young people would produce through entrepreneurial workshops.

This action is the second in a row as part of the Green Montenegro movement that has taken off across the country. In the previous weeks, eucalyptus seeds and oak seedlings were collected. All seedlings, seeds and sprouts will be taken care of at the Muo Youth Educational Center until the moment of planting.

The NGO Naša Akcija and the Youth Team Tivat jointly implemented the cleaning action of Goražda today. This activity was held in celebration of Earth Day. A considerable amount of waste was collected on the Goražde plateau and in the fortress itself. We would like to thank our friend Marjan Šantić of our NGO for the loan of a large fire ladder so that we could clean the inside of the dome, and a special thank you goes to the president of the Mirac MH, Olja Vujaš, who, together with a large number of citizens of this MH, went to the field and helped in the action.
The action was implemented with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy and the Tourist Organization of Kotor.

Cleaning action of Cape Ratac

On Sunday, March 27, NGO Naša action with its colleagues from @omladinski_tim_tivat marked Water Day with an action to clean the coast and pine forest at the location Rt. A warrior. We chose this location because of the rather large amount of waste that has been neglected for months. Our email itself seemed to be motivated by the Bar utility company, which cleaned the landfill, which has been located in the forest for 4 months. In addition, our team collected additional large amounts of waste, mostly plastic packaging. The NGO Info Sport CG, the oldest volunteer of Bar, Mr. Miodrag Banović, who showed by his example that it is never too late to be a volunteer, as well as the Đurišić family from Bar, joined the action. We are always grateful when citizens join the activities.
In addition to the cleaning operation, we visited the cultural and historical heritage of the monastery of St. Mary Ratačka as well as the Mogren fortress in Budva. Of course, this action is intertwined with a lot of fun with the guitar, spring swimming, jumping off the rocks and the socializing of 30 young people from Kotor, Tivat, Podgorica, Cetinje and Budva.
This activity is realized through the Nature program for the mental and physical health of young people, financed by the European Endowment for Democracy. We are also grateful for the support of TO Bar and Morski Dobr, who supported us in the realization of this activity. Rt. Ratac is clean, let him stay that way!

Walking tour for young people in the north of Montenegro.

After the work action in Tivat, for the week of January 31st, we organized an educational walking tour in Šavnik and Žabljak for young people, most of whom have not seen these crossings of Montenegro. Young people had the opportunity to see Durmitor and Black Lake, and then to walk to the very beginning of the Nevidio Canyon and the Skakavica waterfall. We implemented this activity as part of the “Nature for the Physical and Mental Health of Youth” program financed by the European Endowment for Democracy.

We believe that in addition to health benefits, the benefits of such activities are the introduction of young people to their own country, as well as socializing and meeting young people from other parts of the country.

Grabovac planting campaign and visit to Pržna cove

On Saturday, January 29, the NGO Naša Akcija joined its colleagues from the Tivat Youth Club in a planting campaign at the Grabovac location organized by the Municipality of Tivat. In the cold and very strong wind, we planted 150 pomegranates and dogwoods together with other volunteers, most of them from the volunteer fire brigades of Tivat and the Rescue Protection Service, on quite difficult terrain. After the action, we spent the rest of this sunny and beautiful day in the bay of Pržna, the next protected area in the municipality of Tivat.

We implemented this activity as part of the “Nature for the Physical and Mental Health of Youth” program, financed by the European Endowment for Democracy. They would also like to thank the restaurant “Izvor” from Radovići, which rewarded the volunteers with drinks and food after the action.

Walking and educational visit to Goražde fortress

As part of the “Nature for the Physical and Mental Health of Young People” program, NGO Naša Akcija used the first opportunity after the holidays for an educational walk and a visit to the Goražde Fortress. Even before the pandemic, excursions that focus on learning about the cultural heritage of Montenegro were replaced by visits to various shopping centers, and through such field-educational activities, we want to break that trend with our young people. It is unlikely that young people will commit to defending and protecting such rare locations if they are not familiar with them. Of course, it is always an additional benefit to have the opportunity to enjoy one of the phenomenal sunsets over Boka Kotor.
This activity was financed by the European endowment for democracy.

Volunteer action of afforestation of Grabovac and decorating the walls of the Old Town in Kotor

On Saturday, November 13, volunteers of the NGO Naša akcija supported two actions together with our friends and colleagues from the Youth Team Tivat. The day started with the action of afforestation of Grabovac, which was organized by the Municipality of Tivat. The action was joined by citizens, DVD companies from Tivat and the Protection Service. 150 seedlings of bone and pomegranate were planted in this first planting action. Shortly before noon, we headed to Kotor, where we finished decorating the walls from the summer stage to the Citadel with music, fun and socializing. After 9 hours of work, it was time for fun, and so the team headed to the table tennis tournament held in the local community Gradiošnica. The day was rounded off by the Secretary of Social Affairs, Borka Mršulja, who solemnly presented diplomas to the winners of the tournament.
We realized this activity with the support of the European endowment for democracy through the program “Nature for mental and physical health of young people”.

Walking tour to Captain’s Lake

Team for all weather conditions! Yesterday we had a field action tour of Captain’s Lake to the delight of our volunteers. Although it was quite cold and windy (the temperature did not exceed 10C °), the desire for the natural beauties of Lukavica was decisive. The autumn colors made the admiration for nature even greater, so we enjoyed this walk at every moment. We will surely return to Captain’s Lake in the spring, when the snow starts to melt and when strong waterfalls start. Join us for some of the activities, be an active team! This activity is part of the EED program called “Nature for the mental and physical health of young people”

Boka heritage: The tradition of wooden boats

Young people are still interested in old skills and heritage! In the workshop of Master Vitomir Vujović in Prčanj, a team of young people who wanted to attend a workshop on making wooden boats gathered to learn more about this old craft. This two-hour workshop included a lot of history, geometry, details about construction and materials, tradition and profession, and that knowledge was passionately passed on by Master Vitomir. After the lecture, the team present had numerous questions and showed great interest and respect for the details of this craft. This third workshop in a row within the program “Youth and Cultural Heritage” aims to encourage as many young people as possible to discover, research and get to know the traditions of Boka and its heritage, which was definitely achieved last night. This activity is organized with the support of the Municipality of Kotor and the European Endowment for Democracy in celebration of the European Heritage Day in 2021, and it has realized another measure of the Local Action Plan for the Youth of Kotor.
